Local celebrity Bill Champitto and his band of Soulful, Funk, Jazz, Latin and standard band will perform on January 23 & 24. Mr. Champitto will cover artists such as Harry Connick, Michael Buble, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, Ray Charles, Sinatra, Van Morrison, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and many others!
Bill Champitto and his band were recently selected as a finalist from thousands of entries and edged out three other finalists for the opportunity to perform at Steppin’ Out with the Stars 2008 Gala. According to the Dimock Center’s press release, the group “energized the audience” at Scullers Jazz Club. His trio edged out three other artists/ensembles for the opportunity to perform on the main stage at this year’s Steppin’ Out gala at The Westin Boston, MA. Steppin' Out with the Stars Gala is sponsored by Dimock Center, the leader in providing health and human services to Boston's urban neighborhoods. Bill is representing Boston's creative talent for Dimock's annual gala, which features some of the world's most prominent jazz artists including Lalah Hathaway, Monty Alexander, Esperanza Spaulding, Teri Lynn Carrington, Andre Ward and others.
